Beautiful, gentle Maizy and her newborn kittens were abandoned at the door of a very over crowded shelter. Unable to place such tiny kittens for adoption, shelter policy dictated transfer to a rescue group or euthanasia for ALL OF THEM--INCLUDING MOMMA-- as soon as a 10-day hold ended! Fortunately, this is a policy the shelter staff stand on their heads not to enforce. Maizy is such a sweet girl that during her brief stay at the shelter, she adopted Begley, a little orphan about 3 weeks older than her own babies. Since rescue day, Maizy has continued to be the sweetest, most even tempered little mom. Maizy loves all of her little ones and would love to be adopted with any one (or more) of them. But while Maizy is entirely diplomatic on the subject and would never admit to having a favorite (she’s just too sweet to say), we think she would secretly love to be adopted with Begley. (Please don’t tell her that we told you!)

Update July 2012: Maizy met her mom-to-be at our July adoption fair--the same day Begley chose her new parents. So while they aren't going to the same family, in a way our wish that they be adopted together came true! Maizy will go to her new home in early August, following her spay surgery.
