About Major Tom | |

|
Major Tom is an orange kitten with white feet just like his Mom, Sky. He is a total love bug. He is tightly bonded with his sister Lucy, and when he isn't playing with her and brother Ziggy Stardust, he is checking in with his people. He's a natural born cuddler, who simply can not get enough attention. Carry him, pet him, snuggle him -- he soaks up all the attention and showers his people and siblings with love and kisses.
This little guy and his siblings were starving when they arrived in foster care. As a result, they received lots of bottles and human attention from a very early age. He has the sweet nature that orange boys are known for, multiplied by all the human attention he has enjoyed. It's quite possible that he thinks humans are giant cats, as he is happy to make his kitten pile with humans or cats.
Major Tom is very close to his sister (and hero) Lucy and would LOVE to be adopted with her.
Major Tom asked us to tell you a little bit about his Mommy Sky and Auntie Chynna:
Tiny Sky arrived at an urban shelter just 10 months old with 9 kittens in tow, 8 orange boys and 1 brown tabby girl. They were surrendered by an elderly lady who could no longer care for herself, let alone her multiple, mainly orange, kitties. Only 4 of the 9 kittens are Sky’s own; she adopted 5 who had been abandoned by one of her “cousins”. (Yes, that means that Sky is a foster kitten AND a foster mom.) Although Sky was nursing almost 24 hours a day, she was unable to make enough milk for the babies, and she and the babies were very underweight. The babies were barely the size of 1 to 2 week old kittens, yet their eyes were all open and they could climb and do things kittens do at 3-4 weeks! Supplemental bottle feedings from foster mom and dad allowed the babies to catch up. Foster sister Chynna (also available for adoption) is honorary auntie to all the kittens.
