About Omar

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Gray and White
  • Current Age: 24 Years 9 Months (best estimate)
  • Reaction to New People: Friendly

Wonderful, sociable Omar is an absolutely delicious cat. After a remarriage and household changes, Omar became increasingly unhappy. He tried to be a good sport, but began acting out to express his growing unhappiness. His owner and her new husband didn’t have time or patience to help Omar adjust, and ultimately surrendered him to his vet hospital, VCA Alexandria. Since the VCA family is like family to us, we consider Omar part of our family, too, and have signed on to help find him a home. At the hospital, Omar has rediscovered his purr and spends his days keeping the doctors company in their offices, and likes to help them keep their records organized. He is very tidy and well behaved and likes to sit in laps or lie in the windowsill. He is very talkative (but never gossips about hospital patients). Although our cuddly big boy has adjusted well to hospital life, Omar confesses that he can’t wait to quit his day job! He is longing for a quiet home where he can catch up on nap time during the day, spend evenings snuggled up in front of the TV and snuggle in bed all night. Omar has been diagnosed with a thyroid condition, and has responded well to medication. His coworkers - er, vets - say he is in excellent health.

Omar began urinating on items and his docs discovered he was hyperthyroid. And decided to adopt him themselves: our gray loverboy is now a happy clinic cat at VCA Alexandria!
