Eight years ago, Bomber was adopted as a kitten from a rescue group that was displaying kittens at a local PetsMart. He was pressing his cute little face through the cage bars in an irresistible way, and suddenly he was in our home. He was named Bomber because he reminded us of an all-black stealth fighter-bomber. But he does not live up to a military name at all. He is the most docile, lovable, laid back cat I’ve ever met. I call him a “ once in a lifetime cat ”, as he displays none of the moodiness or headstrong personality that is more typical of the feline species. Bomber loves to be petted on his belly when you can talk him into rolling over. He is very pliable, doesn’t mind being picked up, and never makes a fuss—except when the food bowl is empty or he is lonely and wants some love. He even tolerates the poking and prodding of the vet without looking the least bit concerned. He will hide under the bed or couch for many hours when he’s being introverted, but when he comes out for attention, he’ll roll over right there in front of you.

Bomber loves to look out the window for hours at a time. He and Richie bonded very quickly, and they spend most nights sitting on the edge of the couch together. He is selective on cuddle time, preferring some quality introvert time each day, but will sleep with humans if allowed. He enjoys licking the milk out of your cereal bowl, and likes to splash the water out of the water bowl. If allowed, he’ll play in the bathtub or sink, and seems to be mesmerized by running water. He has been known to put his toys into the water bowl, and will definitely pull all the toys out of the toy basket each and every night, arranging them with purpose throughout the living room.

Both Richie and Bomber need to find a new home together where they will be loved and provided better attention. A new marriage has brought new family members into our home, and two of the family have severe allergies to cats. Allergy induced asthma that has proven uncontrollable through medication and even quarantining parts of the home make this difficult decision medically necessary. Also, the cats are suffering being excluded from the bedrooms and sitting rooms areas, so they are not able to enjoy human company during the majority of our time at home. They are crying outside our bedroom door from time to time, telling us that they really want to be a full participant in the family. We are very hopeful that a cat-loving home will provide them the attention they deserve, and we are certain that cat-lovers will be blessed with this perfect and well-bonded pair. You will set our hearts at ease that our difficult decision to re-home them will provide a much better quality of life than our health situation at home is currently affording them.
