Icarus earned his name by climbing out of the nest and going for a walk the very first day he was in his foster home. He's a bit more reserved and independent than his outgoing sister and brothers, but just as loving. He's recently discovered that his foster mom's hair is fun to play with and he loves to curl up on the back of the sofa and fall asleep pushed up against the back of her head.
Icarus loves to run, climb, and play with the Cat Dancer. He is easygoing and seems to love all his siblings equally... he'll curl up with whichever brother is closest!
This little boy has not spent even one moment alone in his entire life. He'd love to be adopted with one of his siblings, his foster Mom, Sky, or his honorary aunt Chynna.
Icarus asked us to tell you a little bit about his Mommy Sky and Auntie Chynna:
Tiny Sky arrived at an urban shelter just 10 months old with 9 kittens in tow, 8 orange boys and 1 brown tabby girl. They were surrendered by an elderly lady who could no longer care for herself, let alone her multiple, mainly orange, kitties. Only 4 of the 9 kittens are Sky’s own; she adopted 5 who had been abandoned by one of her “cousins”. (Yes, that means that Sky is a foster kitten AND a foster mom.) Although Sky was nursing almost 24 hours a day, she was unable to make enough milk for the babies, and she and the babies were very underweight. The babies were barely the size of 1 to 2 week old kittens, yet their eyes were all open and they could climb and do things kittens do at 3-4 weeks! Supplemental bottle feedings from foster mom and dad allowed the babies to catch up. Foster sister Chynna (also avai lable for adoption) is honorary auntie to all the kittens.
