Ziggy is a little charmer. He is most often found playing with his super-active sister Lucy and his brother Major Tom, but gets along well with all 8 of his siblings.  

He's very curious and will play with anything. He's a handsome boy and helpfully posed for photos wearing Silpada jewelry during a FFGW fundraiser... quite an accomplishment as most of his siblings simply couldn't stay still  long enough for a photo.  

His mother could not produce enough milk for all nine kittens, so Ziggy was bottle fed from an early age. He was originally named "The Clapper" because every time he got a bottle he would clap! He very quickly learned to hold his bottle and never wanted to let go. 

Ziggy Stardust would love to be adopted with Lucy and Major Tom, or with his Mom, Sky, or honorary aunt Chynna. 

Ziggy asked us to tell you a little bit about his Mommy Sky and Auntie Chynna:

Tiny Sky arrived at an urban shelter just 10 months old with 9 kittens in tow, 8 orange boys and 1 brown tabby girl. They were surrendered by an elderly lady who could no longer care for herself, let alone her multiple, mainly orange, kitties. Only 4 of the 9 kittens are Sky’s own; she adopted 5 who had been abandoned by one of her “cousins”. (Yes, that means that Sky is a foster kitten AND a foster mom.) Although Sky was nursing almost 24 hours a day, she was unable to make enough milk for the babies, and she and the babies were very underweight. The babies were barely the size of 1 to 2 week old kittens, yet their eyes were all open and they could climb and do things kittens do at 3-4 weeks! Supplemental bottle feedings from foster mom and dad allowed the babies to catch up. Foster sister Chynna (also avai lable for adoption) is honorary auntie to all the kittens.

Update September 2015: Ziggy met his new family and feline sister Milli at the National Capital Cat Show. Caprica is the last of the kittens and misses his brother TERRIBLY!  Chynna and Sky are working hard to comfort him and we are ALL hoping that the three will be adopted together!
