Named for his big voice and rumbling purr, handsome, wide-eyed Harley is a cat in a million.  He came to FFGW from a rural shelter, where he was a staff favorite, and, inexplicably, not adopted after many months. The fact that Harley was still available for us to rescue is a testament to what a truly special boy he is: shelter rules prohibit staff adoptions, but month after month, the staff used one bureaucratic sleight of hand after another to keep their favorite kitty out of the euthanasia line.  When we reached out to see if we could help any of the shelter kitties, all we heard was “Harley! Harley! Harley!” And boy did the shelter folks know what they were talking about! Harley is one of the sweetest—and cutest-- boys we have met. He ADORES other cats, and was a loyal friend to all the cats in the shelter, even the ones who came and went while he waited patiently for someone to choose him. Harley runs to greet you when you come in the door, and follows wherever you go. He loves to play, and loves to be held. We really hope to find Harley a home of his own by June 20, 2015, which will be the one year anniversary of the day he was picked up as a stray. Some very foolish person out there in the Virginia countryside made a big mistake the day they let this precious boy get away. 

Update May 2015 Harley has been adopted!  Little stray boy now has a mom & dad of his very own.
