About Willow

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Brown Tabby
  • Current Age: 11 Years 9 Months (best estimate)
  • Reaction to New People: Cautious

What a sweetheart! Although she's not as big as she seems, Willow's gorgeous coat, long, furry ear tufts, big “lion’s mane” and bushy raccoon-like tail, suggest that there's a Maine Coon somewhere in her family tree. (Indeed,    Willow has  another trait  commonly seen in Maine Coons:  an extra "toe" on her front paw!)

She is super affectionate. When it’s just family around, she’ll jump in their laps looking for some cuddling.  But even with people she doesn't know, she wants to be in the room and will hang out on the sidelines to eavesdrop on the conversation. Willow follows her foster mom around the house and supervises her as she goes about her chores. And she’s a great cuddler in the evening when the family is relaxing in front of the tv or reading.  Willow is also good friends with  her feline foster siblings Fiona and Alejandro (both FFGW adoptees themselves). And, as you can see in the photos below, adores the family dog, Buster.

Willow was rescued at 10 weeks,   and while she has really blossomed in foster care, she still needs time to adjust to people she doesn't know and show what a fabulous kitty she can be!

Update October 2014: We are totally delighted to report Willow has been adopted!!!!
