Illustrating the mystery of feline genetics,  it's hard to believe that blue-eyed, lilac pointed Harmony and green-eyed brown tabby Houdini are sisters. It's also hard to imagine what would have happened to them if they hadn't been found on a freezing, rainy night last fall when they were barely 5 weeks old. These charming little ladies have no idea they were ever in danger--you should see them flitting through their foster home or snuggling in the arms of their foster parents' young daughters.  They are separately and together everything you could possibly want in a young kitty: confident, playful and ever so loving. The girls are so secure in themselves and the wonderful adventure of living that they don't necessarily have to be adopted together. But they make an awfully cute pair ... if we do say so ourselves.

The girls do have to be considered special needs kitties, because they both have had troubles with their ears since they were tiny, and had to have their ears cleaned almost every day (we are so lucky that their foster mommy is also their veterinarian!). When they got bigger, we were able to tell that the problems were caused by polyps, or growths, in their ear canals. But even though the polyps have been removed and their ears have healed well  so far, they may return in the future and the girls may need more frequent ear cleaning throughout their  lives than other kitties do.  We hope that you will agree that a little ear care is a small price to pay in exchange for sharing your life with one or both of these very special girls!

UPDATE APRIL 2013: Harmony & Houdini have been adopted by  wonderful family undaunted by their special needs!
