About Mitzi

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • Color: Tabby-tortie-co
  • Current Age: 24 Years 1 Month (best estimate)
  • Reaction to New People: Friendly

Marvelous Mitzi was a beloved member of a large family until the day she was hit by a car . The poor girl sustained a broken jaw and other injuries her parents couldn't afford to fix. With heavy hearts, the family agreed to surrender Mitzi to her vet in order to save her life. The surgery was successful and the vet took Mitzi home to heal. During her recovery, Mitzi enjoyed the company of the doctor's cats and dogs (ranging from a tea-cup Chihuahua to a goofy Lab mix) . And once she was healed, Mitzi came to FFGW to find a forever home of her own. Mitzi is a head-butting cutie and gets along well with her feline foster siblings (two seniors and a live-wire youngster). Although she doesn't like to be picked up, Mitzi positively craves human affection on her own terms. This includes climbing into any available lap and lots of head-butts. And gossip: Mitzi likes to talk and be talked to! She also insists on sleeping in bed and, in interest of full disclosure,  likes to initiate cuddle sessions at 3 am. And when she is really happy, she drools.  Mitzi is quite self-sufficient, so is very accommodating about human work schedules, waiting contentedly for your return. One note: as a result of the car accident, most of Mitzi's teeth had to be removed, so she has some trouble picking up dry kibble and  prefers wet food. She also needs a little help keeping her chin area clean (unscented baby wipes are great for this). A little chin mopping is a small price to pay for one of the nicest cats ever!

Update January 21, 2013: Mitzi asked us to let you you know that she has gone home with two lovely humans who she thinks are perfect cat-parent material! Thank you, Mitzi!
