Edward is a dreamsicle kitty—orange & white, softly sweet with a little playful tang. And very, very soft, once he starts to melt. Edward came to us from a wonderful couple who befriended him at their new apartment complex. Neighbors said the cat was born on the property in early 2012, but didn’t belong to anyone. Over a painstaking 3 week period, the couple lured the beautiful kitty to their patio and earned his trust. Edward rewarded them with chirps and purrs, let them pet him and pick him up. He'd even venture inside for visits, but seemed to feel more comfortable sleeping on the patio at night. Then tragedy: the landlord announced that they had to stop feeding him on their patio or face eviction! (Imagine what he would have done if he knew about the visits inside to play and watch TV?!) Edward is now safe in foster care. It took him some time to warm up to his foster mom, but when he melted, he was just as described: full of purrs, lots of love and a passion for playing! Edward is inside for good now, huggable and kissable, and ready to form a permanent bond with a special person or two of his own. He gets along well with the other cats in his foster home, but has difficulty with change and is cautious about strangers. Edward really hides his light under a bushel and needs someone very understanding to wait for all of his wonderfulness to appear.

HAPPY NEW YEAR UPDATE: January 3 was a lucky day for a lucky boy and his lucky mom!  She was looking at orange and white boys, and chose Edward, recognizing that it would take time to overcome his shyness. Lucky, lucky, lucky boy!!!!
