Extra! Extra! Read all about it! Glitterball was adopted on Saturday November 10, 2012. Congratulations to her new family!!!
As with so many kittens who find their way to FFGW, we don't know how this little girl got her start in life. We do know that she ended up in a crowded, urban shelter, at 3 to 4 months old, emaciated, and with open sores on her back legs. The shelter, seeing the sparkle and utter sweetness peeking out from behind her bedraggled countenance, reached out to FFGW to take this sweetheart under our wing. After a short stint with our vet to be thoroughly checked out, she was sent home to her new foster mom, who promptly christened her "Glitterball" because of all the little golden dots and sparkles sprinkled throughout her coat. With a lot of food and TLC, this little girl had doubled in weight within two weeks, and she was romping like the little spitfire she was destined to be.
Glitterball is a typical tortie - full of attitude, spunk and mischief, but combined with a huge dollop of sweetness and love. When she's not running around at high speed, making the heads of her older foster cat siblings spin, she wants nothing more than to snuggle under your chin and share whatever you are doing. She particularly loves sitting between her foster mom and the computer screen, and doesn't quite understand yet that she makes a better door than a window. She can't help it - she loves to watch all of the things moving around on the screen, even if it's just the letters appearing as you type.
Glitterball gets along well with the two older cats in the house, although they don't always have the patience or energy to put up with her hijinks. There is not a shy bone in her body, and as far as she's concerned, there are no strangers in the world.
Glitterball would do well in a high energy home, and would be completely fine with other cats - the younger the better! Although she hasn't gotten to meet any dogs, her foster mom thinks that with her outgoing nature and fearlessness, she would probably be very happy to share a family with a canine sibling or two.
