About Pippin

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • Current Age: 14 Years 6 Months (best estimate)
  • Grooming Needs: Moderate

Our great big, wonderful Pippin arrived in his foster home on Valentine's Day and is such a lover boy, he could have been hand delivered by Cupid himself! Estimated to be about one year old, Pippin was turned in to a shelter by someone who couldn't keep him but couldn't stand the idea of such a sweet kitty out in the cold. Pippin is a good natured boy who has never met a stranger: he even popped out of his carrier purring and flirting when he arrived at our vet for his intake vet exam! We're calling our gentle giant a "Faux" Maine Coon—he has classic tabby markings, the ruff, the bushy "raccoon-like" tail and the large tufty paws of that special breed, but no papers. But like the real deal, he's still growing even though he's already past his first birthday (he gained 5 pounds between his first and second vet visits!) and is very laid back, friendly and easy going. Pippin likes other cats and is very low maintenance. He's an all-around sweetheart, and except for a little initial shyness around the small children he's met so far, Pippin will be a great addition to any family!

UPDATE MAY 20, 2012: Pippin wasn't able to come to our adoption fair today. But don't feel sorry for Pippin!  He was busy at his foster home meeting his new family! Yup-Pippin has been adopted & we are soooo happy for him!
