The year 2005 was special for FFGW: it was our 10th anniversary year and, among many others, we rescued a young, terrified and very pregnant calico. Just hours after arriving in foster care, she delivered 4 beautiful kittens, including Josie, a beautiful, dilute tortie girl. Josie was adopted along with her mother, but sadly, through no fault of her own, Josie has come back to us.
Josie is an incredibly gregarious and outgoing girl. She will flop on her back in front of complete strangers to shamelessly solicit their admiration for the soft, fuzzy expanse of her belly. She loves to play chase with the other foster kitties, and we think she would be extremely happy in a house with other cat(s). Josie is very tolerant of bustle and noise and visitors – no wallflower she! She doesn’t like to be picked up, but it really doesn’t matter – once she's settled in, she won’t wait for an invitation, she’ll just climb right into your lap when you sit down! At night, she’ll snuggle up tightly to your legs (if you’re OK with that – if not, her foster mom has suggestions for that too!)
Josie is a big, sturdy girl, who can have a tendency to overeat if given the chance. Josie does have one special need - she requires a grain-free wet diet in order to avoid intestinal upset.
If you give this girl a chance, she will reward you by greeting you at the door every day when you come home, chirping, and blinking her big green eyes at you to tell you how much she loves you and missed you.
