About Abe aka Murphy | |

The spitting image of a pedigreed Abyssinian this fabulously handsome declawed kitty is on the prowl for the perfect home for the third time in two short years! We don't know anything about his first home, but in October 2010, he suddenly appeared in a Virginia neighborhood and found his way to one home in particular where he spent hours staring through the patio door, begging to come in. The homeowner and neighbors fed the beautiful cat while searching far and wide for his owner. That first October stretched into the dark days of winter but still no one appeared to claim the handsome cat. The kind homeowner finally gave in named him Abe and tried hard to integrate him into her household of two elderly cats. But while Abe was extremely friendly and affectionate with humans, he did not feel the same about his new kitty housemates, harassing them mercilessly. So Abe's rescuer turned to FFGW to help find Abe a cat-free home to call his own. In late fall 2011 we thought Abe had won the Golden Ticket when a wonderful young woman chose Abe to be her only feline companion. Unfortunately, Abe, now known as Murphy, isn't as happy as we all hoped he would be. All is well, even fantastic, when Mom is home--he purrs and plays and entertains her to a fare-thee-well. The problem is mom's increasinly busy travel schedule: Abe/Murphy just can't stand it! So we are once again seeking a new home where Abe/Murphy can not only be lord of all he surveys in a cat-free environment but this time with humans who are more inclined to stay at home--in order to better appreciate his strong will, keen intelligence and remarkable beauty!
HAPPY UPDATE: Abe/Murphy has already been adopted again! On January 15, 2012 he went home with his new mom & dad. He says that two people to spoil and admire . . . him is just what he had in mind! Congratulations!
