Amahl (the night visitor), is a 5 to 7 year old MLH black cat with sad green eyes, earned his name in the spring of 2009 when he appeared in an FFGW foster parent's neighborhood and several weeks later scaled the cat fence in the foster's backyard and came in through the cat door, because he was starving. Grossly underweight, we began feeding him and it soon became evident he was not feral, but an abandoned or lost cat. (See outdoor photo as he began to fatten up). Despite attempts to trap him, bring him into the house or get him in a carrier, Amahl did not want to come inside. Suffering from an infected wound and having survived the first blizzard of the past winter, we scooped him up before Snowmageddon and he was fully vetted and safe before the February storms. We think he must have been outside for a long time, since he is slowly adjusting to life as a house cat. Very calm and affectionate, amahl is used to a multi-cat household and still occasionally meows to go outside.
