About Roger- FIV Positive | |
|
|
Roger is an outgoing and handsome gentleman. He has blossomed with routines and will match your energy level. He is the kind of cat that welcomes you home enthusiastically and wants to be invited to sit on your lap for a snuggle. He enjoys playing by himself or with his family during the day, and hunkering down on a lap for a tv/movie night in the evening. He is also a cozy lap warmer if you happen to play video games.
Roger is both food motivated and smart, and we think he can be very trainable with consistency.
Roger is a very charming fellow, and wins over everyone who meets him - he’s even been called a hunk!
He’s even been caught snuggling with a calm dog in his foster home. This older dog has no interest but Roger is not letting this disinterest get him down! He is busy enjoying his food puzzle and throwing his toys around and socializing with his humans.
Roger has FIV, but that’s not the only positive thing about him! He is confident, gently affectionate even with strangers, and enjoys exploring.
Roger would love a home with another friendly animal and a home where he will have a lot of time to spend with his humans.
The FIV virus is not a reason not to adopt! It is not transmissible to people or to non-cat
species and is not a death sentence. It simply reduces a cat's immune system as the cat
ages, which can leave the cat more vulnerable to other feline infections later in life.
Cat to cat transmission does not occur with casual contact and it is not airborne.
Cats who are FIV+ live long, happy lives! Please check out the below informational links about FIV to understand why it is not a reason to shy away from adopting:
