Derby was born around 10/12/2022, with her sister, London; her birthdate isn’t certain as she spent her first month of life in the shelter - but you wouldn’t know it. She doesn’t let anything get her down! She is a high energy kitty who loves to play with her toys, her sister, and her people! She zips around the room with a purpose, running up her cat tree, and declaring victory. Both Derby and London have been trained by the best squeaker factory in the country. Instead of a proper “meow,” they come out as varied and colorful squeaks!

Derby takes good care of her sister, ensuring that she always eats first and feels safe. Even if Derby has a treat given to her, she will drop it to allow her sister to have it. The only way she is willing to take a treat is if her sister has one too! When they're not playing, they are often found in a cabinet together, peaking their heads out to see who’s there.

Derby is an affectionate little girl, who shows her love and appreciation by trying to be as close to her loved one as possible. She will lovingly paw at her foster mom’s hand when she pulls it away, to say, “no, don’t leave yet, I’m not done!” When her foster mom sits, Derby will stand on her back two legs, gently put her front paws on her foster mom’s knees, and then ever so kindly stretch a paw up towards the sky in an effort to get her foster mom’s attention and affection. Which of course, works!

Derby and London would like to go to a home together and would do best in a home with older children who understand when a kitty needs some alone time. This home would need to appreciate a high-energy kitty that has a touch of mischief. It won’t take long for Derby to settle in and become the outgoing and affectionate kitty that she is known to be.
