Mitzi, our beautiful darling young girl, is in search of a unicorn adopter.   We aren’t sure what trauma this brave girl endured, we only know she was found outside with her babies.   Her babies were young enough to move past what happened, but Mitzi may always remember. 

However, with patience and understanding, Mitzi is getting more and more comfortable and confident each day!   She used to spend all her time under a bed, briefly coming out for food in our presence.  

Then she grew more comfortable sitting in a window by herself, then she would sit next to us on a couch.  Now, our darling girl has the run of the house, has integrated with the resident cats, and she loves treats and sleeping on the bed with us!  She likes our other cats a lot.  Their confidence has inspired her to grow, and come out to play!  Ideally, her dream adopter has other cats or even dogs at home. A gentle dog would be ok with a slow introduction.   Are you that unicorn adopter?!?  She deserves a loving home that will allow her to blossom! 

The FIV virus is not a reason not to adopt!  It is not transmissible to people or to non-cat species and is not a death sentence.  It simply reduces a cat's immune system as the cat ages, which can leave the cat more vulnerable to other feline infections later in life.  Cats who are FIV+ live long, happy lives!  Please check out the below informational links about FIV to understand why it is not a reason to shy away from adopting:
