About Riddick - FIV+ | |
|
|
Riddick is quite possibly the most perfect cat you will ever meet. This gorgeous boy with his awesomely huge jowls just oozes personality. He loves, loves, loves every person he meets and wants constant attention and loving. He will be your best buddy, hanging out with you while you work, watch TV, sleep, etc.
He always wants to be where his people are and will cry if he is forced to be kept apart from them, so he is looking for a forever home where he truly will be part of the family.
Riddick does fine with other cats, though he would also thrive as your only cat because that just means more attention for him. The one thing he really cannot stand though, are dogs! He is absolutely fearless with dogs and will go after them and attack them if they come near him. There were two dogs a previous foster home, both around 55 pounds, and they are terrified of him! But given his aggression around dogs, you can see why it is important that he not be in a home with dogs who might not react well to being attacked by a cat.
You may have noticed that Riddick only has one eye and is FIV positive. This is the result of a very hard life that he lived for his first six years, prior to coming to FFGW. He has very little sight in the eye that is remaining and while that does not affect him at all, it is something his new family should be aware of. He is extremely healthy, and extremely playful. Give him a catnip toy and he acts like a little kitten!
Riddick is perfect in so many ways — now he just needs to find the perfect family to call his own!
As you can see in the links below, an FIV+ diagnosis is not a reason to shy away from adopting. We hope you will give Riddick a chance.
