Mike and Ike are two brothers who were briefly separated during intake to FFGW and, as the video below shows, are extremely happy to be reunited. This bonded duo is looking for a forever home together where they will never be separated again.
Mike and Ike came to FFGW with a group of seven male cats who were all kept in a single room by their previous owners to keep them away from unspayed females in the home. You can imagine that crowded room wasn't much fun for these boys! Mike is the more outgoing of the duo, but once they get used to a new environment both boys love to be petted and to hang with their people. They also love to play and wrestle together and are truly best buds!
Mike is FIV positive, which means that his immune system is more compromised than his brother Ike, who is FIV negative. Ike has some adhesions on his corneas, likely from an untreated infection when he was younger, but they do not interfere with his vision.
FIV is only transmittable cat to cat, so other species (dogs, humans) are not at risk. Even between cats, the virus is only transmittable if it is introduced into the bloodstream of another cat (think bite wound). It is not airborne, so not transmittable like the common cold, for example.
Mike and Ike had a rough life before coming to FFGW and we are so happy to see them relaxing, being loved, and having a whole house to run around in.
We are hoping to find a wonderful family who will commit to making these sweet brothers a part of their lives forever more.
