Oreo is a sweet boy who needs someone to give him a second chance.  Be sure and check out his videos below!

Oreo had a rough start in life and was surrendered at the age of 2. During his first week in his foster home, he preferred being a “turtle” under his blankets and spending time under the bed in one room. However, even during his stressful new start, he would immediately start purring and come out of hiding if I sat next to him. He would rub his head into my hands, jump up to nuzzle noses with me, and knead me and his blankets. When I would leave the room, he would cry for me to come back and stay with him.  I immediately recognized that his love of people far outweighs his fear of a new place.

Oreo looks like a grown cat, but he doesn’t know it. At heart, he is an adventurous little boy once he acclimates to his surroundings. Once he warms up, he plays like a kitten with his kick toys, laser light, and wand toys. He spends most of the day being calm and snuggly, but when it’s play time, he lights up.

Oreo also loves his wet food! He makes happy chirps and gives lots of love to thank me when I put the food down. If he could, he would eat his wet food all day.

Oreo may be shy with people at first, but he lived with dogs in his first home and is genuinely unphased by the five other cats in his foster home. With the exception of an occasional swat, Oreo gets along with all of the other animals and loves playing tag with the other cats throughout the house. He would do great with dogs, cats, or as an only animal. At the end of the day, he loves the attention of myself and my husband above all else. He snuggles the most when the other animals aren’t around and he has me all to himself. He loves when he can just lay on the bed with me to watch TV on the laptop.

Oreo is “selective” with who he trusts immediately. Sometimes he greets people immediately and shows them how charming he can be. Sometimes he hides until he familiarizes himself with a new guest, but who can blame him? The boy has had a lot of change and heartbreak in recent months. Once he trusts though, his appreciation and affection are abundant!

It has been wonderful watching Oreo grow more confident and comfortable in our home. We know that if someone is willing to be patient with him and to understand that he needs a little time to adjust to his new people and surroundings, they will enjoy having this wonderful, grateful, lovely boy as a member of their family.
