It’s unusual for FFGW to recommend that a kitty be allowed to go outside, but in Simba’s case, outside is the only place where he’s happy and feels good about the world. Before he was rescued by FFGW, Simba lived outside in a condo community where he was the “unofficial pet” of the community’s kids. Unfortunately, Simba was evicted by the condo association, eventually ending up in a foster home. He seemed unhappy and terrified for months, until one day the foster mom allowed him to bask in the sun while she was gardening and noticed a dramatic transformation in Simba’s temperament. Suddenly, he was friendly, outgoing and happy as a clam. We feel that he’d be fine as an only cat or with a cat-friendly dog to hang out with.
