About Thunder

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Brown Tabby
  • Current Age: 5 Years 8 Months (best estimate)
  • Declawed: No
  • Reaction to New People: Friendly

Thunder is a resilient cat and the life of any party. He will never hide from a new human, he doesn’t mind when things get busy or noisy around the house, he was unphased by a ten hour ride in the car, he was happy visiting three homes over the holidays, and he quickly gets over getting spooked.

Although he is not a traditional lap cat, Thunder is definitely affectionate in his own way. For instance, once he has worn himself out for the day, he will knead himself to sleep with you on the couch or flop next to you to watch a show. Sometimes he even snuggles in for the night between your knees in bed. He will run for the door to greet you when you get home, and he will be climbing the window begging you not to leave in the morning. He is not a food-driven cat, and instead, bonds with whoever earns his heart through laser lights, string toys, and play.

In his foster home, he LOVES two of his three foster brothers. They are best friends who wrestle, chase, and snuggle. He is always happy to see them, and he loves eating with his "pack," even if they steal his food Thunder is scared of the older, grumpier cat though and gets hissy with fear when the grumpy cat is getting too close.

We think Thunder would do best with another young, very playful cat, and that he will also do fine with an older, less playful cat with a slow introduction. If going to a home without a companion animal, he would likely do best with a family that is home all the time and people who are willing and able to dedicate time to play every day since he gets lonely and bored easily.

We love Thunder so much, and we know his forever family will be lucky to have this hilariously crazy cat. He brings a lot of life everywhere he goes.
