Meet Feline Foundation’s own “Herbie the Love Bug”!  This sweet boy has had so much happen to him in his short life so far! He is definitely looking for a happy ending.

Herbert showed up out of the blue at a feral colony last November. The person managing the colony could tell immediately that he needed medical attention – it looked like he had smaller red rubber balls on each of the major pads on his little feet and he was leaving bloody footprints all over the place.  She gained his trust and got him into a vet where it was discovered that he had something called “pillow foot”, a curable condition but not one that was going to get any better with him outside alone.

Feline Foundation got him into a loving foster home and provided the medical care he needed but just as his pillow foot was almost resolved, it was discovered that Herbert had become diabetic. Fast forward a month or so and Herbert’s diabetes is being managed and his doctors believe that he will revert to non-diabetic at some point in the future, which is very promising news!

Herbert is about as sweet a cat as you will find. He absolutely adores other cats. He calls to them by making little chirping noises and loves to play and interact with other cats. He can be a little nervous on meeting new people but once he knows and trusts you, Herbert is a love bug. He likes to assist with computer work by sitting as close to your computer as possible, usually right on top of the mouse. He is a big fan of catnip and loves to lay on the living room rug with his foster mom and roll around and play and cuddle, purring the whole while. One of his favorite toys is a catnip filled carrot which you will see in some of his pictures.

This boy is so special and has overcome so much in his young life. Now he just needs a forever family or person ready to commit to his “happy ever after”.
