Chip and Dale are the true meaning of a "bonded pair."

FFGW received an email from an amazing lady, a wonderful passerby who saved these boys.

Her email to us is below:

My name is ******. On Sunday 10/1 evening I noticed two black cats hiding in the stairwell of my apartment building. When I found them they were hiding on opposite sides of the building. One was lying in front of somebodies door on the second floor and the other was on the middle platform between the second and third floor, closer to my apartment. Neither of them wanted to move but they would open their eyes and make slight meowing/crying noises at me and they would let me touch them. I brought them out food and water and covered them with towels because it was getting chilly. I kept checking on them and neither of them had moved an inch. Finally I brought the one that was in front of someones door over to the one that was near my apartment. They immediately cuddled up together and I covered them with the towels again. We didn't want to bring them inside because we have five cats already and weren't sure if these cats could be sick or anything. I decided it was getting too cold and I brought them out a box and filled it with fleece blankets for them to sleep in that night and covered them up. On Monday morning they were still there but I had to work from early in the morning until 3pm. When I got home from work on Monday somebody had nicely taken the blankets off of them so they weren't too hot, but they were still there and they had barely moved. I finally brought them inside and made them a temporary home in my bathroom on Monday evening... It is very apparent that these cats were either dumped outside of our building or more realistically someone just moved out and left them. They don't seem like they have ever been outside before, they were petrified. It seems they were well fed but not taken care of in any other way.  I think they are brothers, they definitely seem to be bonded. They are short haired black cats. They seem to be in good health. Honestly, I've owned cats my whole life and these are two of the nicest cats I've ever met. They are so loving and trusting of humans even though they were treated so badly. Unfortunately, they do not. I am currently contacting rescues and non-kill shelters to try to find someone to accept them before taking them to the county shelter. Please contact me with any information or advice you can share!

We couldn't take these boys into the rescue fast enough! They've been fully checked out and are healthy as can be! They're enjoying being pampered in a foster home and are safe! What we want for these boys are a Forever Home of their own where they will never have to worry again!!
