About Moonbeam | |
My caretaker says my name, Moonbeam, reflects my spirit -- quiet darkness at first glance but bright goodness close to my heart. She also says I have a very unique coat called “smoke,” an undercoat of pure white topped with black. People seem to love my really fluffy tail that is mostly white on the backside and my silky angora rabbit coat.
I think one of the reasons why I’m shy is because I was very, very sick when I came to live inside and my sisters were afraid and rejected me. I also was frightened of all those doctors and having to stay at that place with the bright lights and strange noises. Once I started getting better, my sisters and I became thick as thieves, playing, sleeping, and loving each other but because they’re bigger, they usually get to the toys first.
I like sleeping on the bed when you’re not looking or are asleep, and will play with you on the bed with my sisters. I will let you gently pet me while I’m eating even though I look up often to check out what you’re doing. I also don’t mind if you feed me by hand. I too love the Good Night song and will let you lightly brush me while I’m getting my treats. I’m full of determination and have a big heart which is why I’m working my way to being less shy every day. My favorite toys are balls, particularly a ping-pong ball, and the Ripple Rug. If you hide toys inside and move them about, I’ll get really close to you and let you sneak in some pets.
